Repair and Restoration Service
   Many of the old classic rods and family heirlooms are stashed away in closets, unused and no longer admired, because they are in need of repair, refinishing, or replacement of a missing or broken section.
   Contact me for an honest appraisal and repair estimate to return that old rod to its intended use.
    Since I started fly fishing back in 1951, I've tried nearly all of the "improvements" in rod technology and tapers, from the post-war bamboo rods, through fiberglass, graphite, Boron, and several cane rods from modern makers.
    For the past ten years, my rod of choice on Wisconsin's intimate spring creeks has been a finely crafted cane rod, built by master builder Don Schroeder. Don's rods give me the accurate, delicate presentations that fool the cagey browns. They have a "sweet" feel in the hand, making casting smooth and effortless, and allowing me to concentrate on fishing instead of mechanics.
